Description
A Hawk is exactly what you need when you’re repointing brick! Make a patty of mortar on the hawk board (it’s machine scored to help center the material). Next, pat the mortar down to the joint height. Finally, slice the mortar into strips the depth of the joint, and start packing the joints using a slicker. Hawks come in two different sizes. The 10×10 is lighter and will hold less mortar reducing wrist and arm fatigue. Mortar is very heavy. The 13×13 will hold more mortar. Made from aluminum with a wooden handle and a 1/2″ thick callous preventer.
Wash and dry after every use.
