Lancaster Sand for Lime Putty mortar is perfect for your big job! Use this sand in a ratio of 3 parts of sand to 1 part of Lime Putty. When mixing with NHL use in a ratio of 2 1/2 parts of sand to 1 part NHL.  Lime Mortars require a sand that has specific aggregate sizes.  Sand is a natural occurring item. The color may vary slightly from month to month. It is best to place your whole order at one time to guarantee the sand is from the same lot.  The sand largely determines the finished mortar color.  Lancaster Sand is an orangish sand when mixed with White Lime Putty will make a tan colored mortar.
