Carnauba Wax

 Properties 

• – Use for the protection of marmorinos and tadelakts 
• – Water resistant, it protects lime walls, especially those exposed to water (basins, showers…) 
• – Use pure or mix with Black Soap. When used with Black Soap, it creates Savonite 

 Product sold by weight. 

Carnauba Wax and Black soap are needed for the “savonite” protective finish on Tadelakt.  The instructions for making “savonite” are

Blend 3 Tablespoons of Black Soap and 1 Tablespoon of Carnauba Wax with 4 cups of water.

Bring to a full boil.

Cool.

Apply with a handheld sprayer to Tadelakt.

Work into the Tadelakt with a Tadelakt Stone while still wet, but thumb print hard.

Continue to apply until the Tadelakt absorbs no more Savonite.
