Description
True traditional Tadelakt is more than just ingredients of the plaster. It is also dependent on how it is installed. It is an installation method more than ingredients.
Our traditional Tadelakt is achieved when a high stearic acid soap like Black Soap, reacts with our high pH, high calcium lime. The reaction of the stearic acid with our lime creates a natural wax called Calcium Stearate. The challenge when making your own traditional Tadelakt is learning when and how to apply the black soap. This process will take practice and expect failures like all skilled crafts. Traditional Tadelakt made from black soap and high calcium lime, does not need any additional sealers or wax. However to achieve a perfect Tadelakt installation will require lots of practice.
It is a perfect alternative to tiles in bathrooms, kitchens, spas, and wet rooms. Made with high calcium carbonating lime, and fine marble dust. The finished color is white. The addition of Black Soap will change the color. Add any of our pigments to make your perfect color! Always do a mock-up!
